I’d like to start a game with my son and some friend of his (age 14). I love Glorantha and I’m very familiar with this world (played 20 years RQ3). Is 13th Age the right choice for beginners? If so, what book should I have (on top of the kickstarter)? Are they available in French?

Will Moon Design be present? Will it be possible to buy some product there (or order them and pick them up in order not to pay the shipping costs)?

    Alas, I’m a RQ6 player… 😉

Therefore, I don’t have Sartar Companion, S:KoH et H:G. Is it possible to have a quick explanation of what it is (without any copyright issues)?

Thanks for all the answers. I’m very curious about the Horus Apollo stuff. I imagine clearly what it means, but could you suggest some reading about it?

Also, concerning my research on traveling and God worshiping, I was thinking of using Runes as a link.
If someone from Pameltela worship a god X with rune Earth and Death, he could worship his God at any ‘temple’ related to these runes. As you said, the rituals could be different. But at least he could pray his god. If he wishes to get more spells (for instance, with RQ6 as rules), he would need to learn the new rituals (if they are not contradictory to his values/virtues/passions). He might even learn a new skill for these spells.

The more runes a God has, the more difficult to find a counter part (Orlanth for instance, but he is nearly everywhere…).

I also like the idea ‘Climb the mountain’. For earth cult, plowing a field, helping a child birth, … could help (and the player will have to use a little imagination on certain cases)

No. Not yet. We still have to wait a while longer.

Wouaw. It’s been a long time I didn’t read something from Glorantha (still waiting the GoG). But I like this Death of Orlanth…

What should I read to have the full picture? I don’t plan to play with HQ (more RQ6). Therefore no rules needed. But the whole story seems a very good start for my next campagne.

    Hi,

The 14-15th of November 2014, we organize the 3rd ‘festival en Jeux’ in Belgium, Court-Saint-Etienne (30 km from Brussels). 3500 m² of games, for all ages and styles. RPGs will be present. As well as Miniatures, board games, … It is not as big as Essen (is it possible to be as big as Essen… 😉 ), but we have 5000 people coming during the we. Lots of demonstrations, games, …

And I wondered if someone from the Moon design could come with Glorantha. Most of the people are french speaking but the RPG community speaks often English.

Well, if you are interested, please contact me and we will see what we can do. I’m going to invite also DM for RQ; You could share a place

Gran Orco, if this is the most delayed KS project, be glad. I have one waiting for 2 years now….

Personally, I know they are working like hell on this project. The KS increased a lot the amount of work, hence the delay. And i’ll better have a nice product than a constant KS update (but this is my personal opinion, and I respect totally yours.)

First of all, I hope that you all had a very nice Christmas and New Year. And I wish you all the best for 2014.

I have a related question : In march, at the kickstarter update page (update #34), you said something about a post-kickstarter survey and the possibility to buy more than what we backed-up (I have a little more money to spend on this…).

Did I miss something? Or you are so busy finishing the Guide that you didn’t have time to do it (no complains, just stating)? Has the plan changed (no survey? No buying more stuff?)

I plan to move to RQ6. I still have all my RQII/III books but I’d like to give RQ6 a try.

I’ll probably give it a try. I’m sick of printing my notes then loosing it, trying to find in which file it is, …

As for the Glorantha pack, the amount of information is so big (and the LW interest in this product so low) that I think I’ll use RW just for my data

I feel that there is another potential lesson to be learned from observing what has and is still happening with the Guide.

Maybe letting the next foundational work from Moon Design get so big that the publication queue stalls for 18 months is not the optimal plan? It may be better for both publishers and purchasers if there is enough goodness left in the Pamaltelan and East Isles gods to warrant a later publication of Gods volume 2?

We all know that this kickstarter will be a huge success. 1300 backer for nearly ten times what was asked for the GoG. We can easily imagine that 90% of the previous backer will do the same for the Gods book. Plus all those that missed the GoG. In order to have only a small delay, Don’t start the kickstarter before the whole book is written.. 😉

But I cannot even imagine the huge amount of work it could be. We should all send Christmas presents to the whole team to support them.

    Yeah, let’s start the Kickstarter then… 😉

Ok, I’m a little too enthusiastic and impatient… Sorry.

    Peter,

this is totally (and probably on purpose) a western and central Genertela centric view of the mythology (and the gods)…
