Index of Gloranthan Publications
What follows is a listing of all the professionally published Glorantha products that
have appeared over the last 20+ years. It is intended mainly so the Glorantha collector or
particular enthusiast can see what is out there. The new Glorantha game will be entirely
self-contained, and none of these books will be necessary to play it.
RuneQuest books which were explicitly set in a world other than Glorantha (QuestWorld,
Fantasy Earth, etc.) are not included in this listing. Foreign editions are not included.
Games Workshop did a set of nice reprints of RQ2 and RQ3 material in the UK, and RuneQuest
books have been translated into French, Finnish, German, Japanese, and Spanish.
Chaosium Products
Chaosium was the first publisher of Glorantha, producing the original two board games
and the first two editions of the RuneQuest game. The original era of Chaosium Glorantha
ran from 1975 to 1983. In 1992 Chaosium began producing new, systemless Glorantha books.

Judge's Guild Products
Judge's Guild was busy producing supplements for just about everyone's games in the
late seventies and early eighties. From 1979 to 1980 they managed to put out 6 (!)
licensed RuneQuest supplements in the short span of only two years. These were all
supplements for the first or second edition of RuneQuest. These books are probably not
really Gloranthan, but they're included because they aren't explicitly set in another
world. In fact, at least one of them, Broken Tree Inn, was specifically written for a
Gloranthan setting, but was removed from that setting when published by Judge's Guild
instead of Chaosium, Inc.

Avalon Hill Publications
Avalon Hill began producing Glorantha material with RuneQuest 3. Unfortunately, many of
the early RuneQuest 3 products were set in the world of Fantasy Earth; they are not
included here. Avalon Hill also produced the second edition of Dragon Pass, the revised
White Bear & Red Moon game. The era of Avalon Hill Glorantha ran from 1984 to 1995.

Reaching Moon Megacorp
Reaching Moon Megacorp started publishing Tales of the Reaching Moon in 1989, just as
Avalon Hill Glorantha production went into a sudden three-year hiatus. Besides publishing
16 issues of their magazine, Reaching Moon has also put out a number of
professional-looking books. Some may still be available through the
Wizard's Attic Catalog.

Moon Design Publications
In 1999, Moon Design Publications began reprinting several classic out-of-print
Runequest supplements. The first compilation includes the complete contents of the classic
boxed adventure sets, Pavis and Big Rubble, except for the large size maps. Additionally,
it includes a lot of new art and a new article by Greg Stafford on the Sun Dragon Cult. It
is now available through the Wizard's Attic Catalog.
Additional volumes are planned.

Convention Books
Since 1992, when the first British Convulsion occurred, there have been an ever
increasing number of Glorantha conventions (see the Coming
Events Page for upcoming ones). Please Note: This section includes some repeats from
the Tales of the Reaching Moon section, above.
Con Books:
Almost every Glorantha convention has had a con book, featuring original writings from
many Glorantha luminaries. Most are fairly small, and were only available to attendees.
The con books listed below are those ones that were of a fair size (48+ pages), and were
offered for general sale to help support the con. Postcon books are also listed. These are
books put out following the cons that tend to include LARP writeups and transcripts of
seminars.

LARP Books:
Live Action Role-Playing Games (LARPs) have been a staple of Glorantha conventions,
ever since Home of the Bold was run at the first Convulsion. The books listed below are
associated with various Gloranthan LARPs; they tend to contain lots of background on the
areas of Glorantha the LARPs are set in, with particular attention given to people of the
areas.

Magazines & Fanzines
There have been a number of magazines either partially, largely, or totally dedicated
to Glorantha. They are described here.
A few foreign magazines have been omitted from this list due to their general
inaccesibility. Known foreign magazines that have published Runequest or Gloranthan
articles include: Broos (French, 7 issues, defunct), La Toile D'Arachne' Solara (French, 2
issues, status unknown), Tatou (French, ? issues, status unknown), Free INT/Schattenklinge
(German, 17+ issues, publishing), and TOME (Japanese, 2+ issues, status unknown).
The Book of Drastic Resolutions: A big, professional-looking 'zine with each
issue based on a theme. Past themes have been: Chaos (#1), Prax (#2), and Darkness (#3).
An index of the first two issues of The Book of Drastic
Resolutions is available. Published by Stephen Martin; 3 issues; Publishing approximately
1 issue a year. Issue 4 (Water) is due out in early 2000.
Codex: A small fanzine with each issue centering on a particular location. Past
issues have been set in: Pavis (#1), the West (#2), and Imther (#3). An
index of Codex is available. Published by Mike Dawson; 3
issues; Status unknown.
Different Worlds: Chaosium's second magazine. It dealt with the entire gaming
industry, but there tended to be at least one RuneQuest article every two issues. Of
particular note are #24 (the Mostali issue) and #28 (featuring a variety of stuff,
including notes on military experience). An index of Different
Worlds is available. Published by Chaosium (issues 1-38), Sleuth Publications (issues
39-46), and Different Worlds Publications (issue 47); 47 issues; Defunct.
Enclosure: A large, action-packed fanzine dedicated to role-playing in
Glorantha. It was originally produced to support GloranthaCon 5 in Victoria, Canada, and
GloranthaCon 7 in Los Angeles. Published by the Seattle Farmer's Collective; 2 issues;
Publishing irregular.
Heroes: Avalon Hill's RPG house organ, created to celebrate the release of its
four RPGs: James Bond 007, Lords of Creation, Powers & Perils, and RuneQuest. Most
issues have some RuneQuest content, though only a little of it is Gloranthan. The History
of the Lunar Empire which was published through the first six issues was the best
Gloranthan article in the set. It now has been reprinted in
The Lhankor Mhy Research Library. Vol I, issue 6 is still
worth searching for because it has a fair amount of RuneQuest material, and information on
the land of Fonrit. Vol I, issue 4 is almost as good. Oh yeah, then there's the Avenger
Ant illustrated solo adventure that appears in Vol II, issue 4 (#10) --not RuneQuest or
Glorantha, but funny. An index of Heroes is available.
Published by Avalon Hill; 10 issues; Defunct.
New Lolon Gospel: A mid-sized spiral bound fanzine centering on the small
kingdom of Imther. Published by Harald Smith; 2 issues; Status unknown. Word is that #3 is
being worked upon.
Pavic Tales: The earliest of the RuneQuest 3 fanzines. Also the hardest of them
to find. Published by some folks in England; 9 issues; Defunct.
Questlines: A large fanzine dedicated to Glorantha. Although it
contains much convention-related information, it also has many articles on Glorantha and
RuneQuest. It was originally produced to support Runequest Con Down Under and GloranthaCon
5. Published by the Reaching Moon Megacorp; 2 issues; Publishing irregular.
RQ Adventures: A small fanzine dedicated to adventures using in Glorantha using
the RuneQuest rules system. All issues thus far have been set in Sartar (#1, #2, #4), Prax
(#3), Heortland (#4), and the Stinking Forest (#6). Published by John Castellucci; 6
issues + 1 best of; Publishing erratically. Word is that the 'zine is on hiatus until
after Hero Wars is published.
Tales of the Reaching Moon: The most prolific of the RuneQuest 3 fanzines, and
also a thoroughly professional one. Most later issues are thematic. Past themes include:
Humakti (#5), HeroQuest (#7), Chaos (#8), the Seas (#10), Pamaltela (#11), the West (#13),
Prax (#14 & #15), the Lunar Empire (#16), and Sartar (#18). An
index of Tales of the Reaching Moon is available. Published by
Reaching Moon Megacorp; 18 issues; Publishing 2-3 issues a year. Issue 19 is due out in
1999.
Tradetalk: A recent fanzine, mostly dedicated to Glorantha, but also featuring
occasional articles on other Chaosium RPGs. Most issues have been thematic: Ralios (#2,
#3) and the Holy Country (#4, #5). An index of Tradetalk
is available. Published by the Chaos Society; 5 issues; Publishing 2-3 issues a year.
Issue 6 is due out in 1999.
Wyrm's Footnotes: The original Chaosium house organ. Early issues centered on
the Glorantha board games, while later issues provided support for RuneQuest. Lots of
Gloranthan Background, some of which was reprinted in Runequest Companion, and much more
in Chaosium's Wyrm's Footprints. An index of Wyrm's Footnotes
and Wyrm's Footprints is available. Published by Chaosium; 14 issues; Defunct.
Ye Booke of Tentacles: A large fanzine dedicated to Glorantha. It was
originally produced to support the German Runequest Con IX and X, also known as Tentacles
over Bacharach. Published by RuneQuest Gesellschaft e.V.; 2 issues; Publishing annual.
Other Magazines: Many other magazines have occasionally included
articles for Runequest. In particular, White Dwarf magazine, published by Games Workshop,
had dozens of articles for RuneQuest in the first 100 issues. The Judge's Guild Journal
and Dungeoneer, published by Judges Guild, also had Runequest articles before their
demise. White Wolf magazine, published by White Wolf, printed several Runequest cults, in
issues #15, #16, #18, #20, and #22, plus an article on Sorcery sects in #41, The APAzines
Alarums & Excursions and The Wild Hunt frequently had material for Runequest in
Glorantha, especially in the late 70's and early '80s. Even Dragon Magazine, published by
TSR, Inc., had occasional Runequest articles before it become a house organ.
