Glorantha is an introductory handbook for the mythic fantasy world of the same name. It describes the setting for the Hero Wars game. "When someone asks, 'Where can I learn about Glorantha?' this is the place to send them," says Greg Stafford, President of Issaries, Inc. Glorantha is true to the established materials but still has lots of new information about the already rich setting. Twenty one chapters sweep the broadest strokes to cover the world. The book inevitably concentrates upon the continent of Genertela because that is where the Hero Wars are centered. Other major continental regions, the major religions, and the most widespread Elder Races have their own chapters. "This has no direct game material," says Stafford. "It is a fantasy encyclopedia rather than a game supplement. It's a book in its own right. Later regional supplements will provide statistics and other game materials. "It is going out the door. Glorantha Trading Association copies have been mailed, and wholesale orders are being shipped this week. It'll be in Europe in a week." As part of the Hero Wars line of books, Glorantha is in a trade paperback format (8.25" x 5.25"), with many illustrations by Simon Bray, Heather Bruton, Dario Corallo, Jim Pavelec, Kevin Ramos and Steve Swenston. The cover is by Angelo Montanini. New maps grace its pages, drawn by Cyrille Daujean and augmented by Charlie Krank. Hundreds of runes decorate the text. Glorantha is 256 pages and retails for $19.95. ###
