Dundracon Is Coming - See You There!

DunDraCon XXVIII will be held February 13-16 at the San Ramon Marriott Hotel, 2600 Bishop Drive, San Ramon, CA 94583.

Issaries will definitely be there!

With the passage from RuneQuest to Hero Wars to HeroQuest, many people have found themselves in the world of Glorantha but cut off from former ideas and rules. Stephen Martin and Roderick Robertson of Issaries, Inc., will address this in "What's Up With Glorantha?". Learn what has happened, where Glorantha and HeroQuest are going, and how to find happiness with new rules, new gods, new ideas, and new worlds. The seminar will be held at noon on Saturday, February 15. (On Sunday, Stephen will also be sitting on panels on Mythology in Gaming and Keeping Players Happy, at noon and 2:00pm respectively.)

Theo Posselt and Larry Lynch-Freshner will each run part of John Hughes' "Bad Boon Risin / Beak No Evil" scenario on Sunday at 8:00 pm. Take the part of a Lunar army baboon or a Sartarite rebel duck as you clash at a local celebration. The sessions will be run side-by-side, for 5 players each; registration is through normal con reg, so please sign up. (Theo provides a longer description of the events, included below.)

Read more about the details of DunDraCon -- come by the seminar, play in a scenario, see Masters of Luck and Death, and get a bunch of free stuff!

BAD BOON RISIN / BEAK NO EVIL

Submitted by Theo Posselt

I'm pleased to announce that there will be at least two sessions of a Gloranthan game at Dundracon this year! Larry Lynch-Freshner and I will be running John Hughes' two-session semi-LARP from ScotsCon, Bad Boon Risin/Beak No Evil. The sessions will be run side-by-side at 8 pm on Sunday; registration is through normal con reg, so please sign up.

Session one: Bad Boon Risin / Beak No Evil - The Baboons
Players: 5, supplied by GM - characters supply the good humor
GM: Theo Posselt & Larry Lynch-Freshner
Time: 6-8 hours

You are members of the ancient and powerful race of Baboons, who once instilled terror across all of Prax. Now, your clan serves as a unit in the Imperial Army in Sartar. Aside from the occasional confusion about military etiquette (what, the officer doesn't want his nits picked? And he has a problem with my bright red ass?), it was quite the joy at first. But now, it's damp and muddy, and you really want to go back to Prax... after first dealing with this little bandit problem out in the swamps.

Session two: Bad Boon Risin / Beak No Evil - The Orlanthi Heroes
Players: 5, supplied by GM - characters supply the good humor
GM: Theo Posselt & Larry Lynch-Freshner
Time: 6-8 hours

Ducks are twagic. Twagic. And fweedom-loving rebel bandit ducks like the dwead soggy Pinfeather gang are doubly so. Ducks are serious. Twuly serious. You have to be serious when, driven by unspeakable atwosities committed against your kind, you sacwifice everything to fight the Evil Empire. Made scapeducks after Starbwow's Webellion, Pinfeather the Duck has taken a motley collection of outcasts and wefugees and twained them into (by duck standards) a fewocious fighting farce. You make your living by, ahem, collecting tolls and donation, and hawwassing the lunar fowces whenever they appear. Now you hear of a new fowce of... something... in the Lunar Awmy, and last night Pinfeather went away and hasn't returned...
