GTA Benefits ChangeWe regret that we can no longer offer the GTA discount to members for purchases on Issaries products, effective immediately. Steve Jacksons Games' retail system is not set up to handle special discounts of this nature, nor are they prepared to deal with the additional accounting that such discounts would entail.Last month ("Issaries Transformations") we said the following: ILH-1 and all of our other books will also be available through their Warehouse 23 online store. All current GTA members will continue to receive their discount after the move, but we have changed the GTA membership benefits for future members, who will not receive this discount. We wish we did not have to do this, but the economics force us to. All preorders that have been placed with Wizards Attic (including those for Imperial Lunar Handbook) are being cancelled. In the next few weeks we will contact each person who preordered to let you know what your options are. At the time, we believed that this information was correct. However, after sending the message, we realized that the issue of GTA discounts had never been fully resolved with Steve Jackson Games, although the subject had been discussed. We did not realize that there was a problem with the discount, and Steve Jackson Games thought that the issue had been resolved as part of other negotiations. We simply did not communicate clearly enough with SJ Games on this issue. Orlanth is generous, and we want to be generous, too. Although many members never used their discount, we know there are some who did so regularly. We don't like having to take away a benefit of GTA membership, and we would not do it unless we had to. We appreciate your generosity and support. In an effort to try to compensate for this loss, we have arranged to institute a new benefit for runemasters and heroes. Beginning hopefully in April, all GTA runemasters and heroes will receive a free one-year subscription to Pyramid, Steve Jackson Games' online gaming magazine. Issaries will be contributing official HeroQuest material to Pyramid regularly. (We invite all of you to submit to it as well.) It also features articles on many other games. We will contact runemasters and heroes separately with instructions on how to sign up for their subscription. We are exploring other options to expand the benefits as well, and will contact everyone if anything else changes. (If anyone has suggestions, they are more than welcome to send them to the GTA administration!) Again, we apologize for having to make these changes, ESPECIALLY after announcing that they would continue, but we do not have a choice. |
