I ordered the Guide during the kickstarter as a member of the “Unholy Trio” option.
However, it was another of the Trio who placed the order. Now, is there any way I can download the PDF? I mean, the other guy could just sent his PDF to me, but I’m asking because I would like to get a more “legit” copy. My own copy of the PDF, I mean.

So, even if they look more Mediterranean and sort of “thracian-hitite” now, there are still blond sartarites out there. Variety is good.

Also, will this book also include lots of wonderful gloranthan art?

Is there going to be some kind of parallellism with the upcoming “Adventures in Glorantha” by The Design Mechanism for RuneQuest6? 🙂

It could be cool to have the two books about how to play HQ2/RQ6 in Glorantha. That would also be great to compare, for example, ready made PCs with both systems and therefore see how to best transform HQ2 scenarios into RQ6 and viceversa.

Although I really expect “Adventures in Glorantha” to provide guidelines to create any PC from anywhere in Glorantha, and not just Sartar, Esrolia, Tarsh and Prax. 🙂

Thanks for your reply, Colin. I understand that it is not worth to do that. And of course I don’t want to delay the Guide at all!
I guess this is the same in the maps in the Sartar and Pavis books(?).
Anyway, I’ll be content if you remember to leave the layer with the names separate in future maps.

    Quote:
You mean the community page maps or all of the maps e.g. the Argan Argar Atlas?

Yes, I mean the maps with names on them, and specially the maps of the Argan Argar Atlas and the Pavis Map. It would be really useful for non-English fans if you leave all the names in a layer, so I can switch the original names off and then add the translated names on top without the need to manually erase one name after the other.

I think with the Pavis Map is OK, because all the names have simple background colours, so they would be easy to replace with the translation.

Side question: Is there any chance the maps could be made available without names, so that every user could then be able to translate them into their own language?
Maps are cool, but they need to be in your own language to really wow your players.
    This shouldn’t be difficult… please? 😉

So the rumour that the Axe is there has been planted by the trolls… very clever of them. Let the food come to uz.

Count me very interested in this topic, as I am (slowly) planning a short aldryami campaign, and I’m sure aldryami also practice a mix of theism and animism.

The idea that I liked from the The Design Mechanism forums for RQ6 is that aldryami (and praxians, uz, telmori, etc.) practice animism but also have access to divine spells in the form of cult spirits that embody/cast those spells for the initiate. These powerful spirits are only accessible to high-rank members of the shamanic cult, but shamans can summon them at put them at the temporary service of low-rank cult members in exchange for favors or as a reward. Shamans might even have to undergo a small hero/shamanic quest to ask the deity for these special spirits.

Question: Seeing how many gods exist in Glorantha, is there really any animist culture that relies exclusively on spirits? Because hsunchen also have gods, haven’t they? I mean, even if they call them “great spirits”. Even Daka Fal is a god.

I am very much looking forward to the release of “Adventures in Glorantha“. It must be a hard book to write, but RQ fans will thank Pete Nash for it!

OK, and what do you think about the idea of making a big “Gloranthan Scenarios Contest” once the GtG is out?

    A suggestion:
Once the Guide is out, Moon Design and The Design Mechanism could organize a competition: “Write a scenario or campaign in Glorantha” with prizes such as books and maybe seeing your scenario officially published. The finalists’ scenarios and campaigns could be bundled in a PDF free to download from this website.
I think this would be a great way to see all those ideas that the Guide can inspire in fans and also newcomers and could go to show the wonderful diversity that Glorantha can offer. What do you think? 😉

And I guess The Design Mechanism will publish a parallel book with all those deities in terms of RuneQuest 6, right?

I’m excited by such new books as “The Coming Storm”, “Whitewall” and “Harreksaga”. However, I find remakes like “Sun County” and the tentative “Borderlands” to be a bit repetitive. Even though I will certainly check the new scenarios these books include, I would prefer to see books about places that have never had campaigns set in them, like the Holy Country, Teshnos, Glamour, Fonrit, the East Isles… That would be new and so much more exciting, IMHO of course.

There must have been an elf version of Belintar, since in the old website there was a text attributed to Belintar about elves in which he states something like: “this I learnt from the time I was an elf”. ;P

I liked the book about Ducks that Mongoose published. With it, it is easier to run an all- durulz campaign!
