Well Lawrence, when the RQ6 are back in stock I will have a look at them and maybe, just maybe, I’ll see the light of enlightenment. Until then it’s RQ 2/3/4 for me!

In the now “suspect” Book of Drastic Resolution – Darkness there is a tale of how a darkness trickster god (I have forgotten the name) was being chased by Orlanth after some misdeed and whacked the Storm God in the head with the two Pairing Stones to avoid capture. Is this myth still intact to explain why the stones lean into each other or is that apocryphal myth as well?

OK, I follow you now. Isn’t it a shame that my Pairing Stone Oasis is about to become a ghost place and fade out of existence? Curse Gloranthan Post-destination!

Niall: Thanks for the link. I find HQ and HQII to be difficult because the players argue incessantly about augments and whether certain skills and feats apply to any given situation. The game degenerates into a tawdry court-room drama and that drives me nuts.
Joerg “the Triceratops”: Pardon my slowness on the up-take, but I wish to thank you for your excellent work on the Heortlands and the Civil War of 1617 – 18. While my narrative was different, I readily admit to stealing many of your great ideas and personalities and adapting them to my game. Your work was an inspiration and a joy to read and tinker with. Bravo!
Cheers to all!

So Jeff, when can we expect to see the first Gloranthan Apocrypha of forbidden knowledge which doesn’t jive with the orthodoxy of the Stafford/Moon Design priests? Will a splinter sect appear and call into question the orthodoxy of the “German Church of Glorantha”?
As to your point about the scholars being alive to consult, I agree and therefore encourage all to eat right, get plenty of exercise and lay off the Hazia and Black Sap! Also, despite your warning about the Books of Drastic Resolution, I think you should cut out all salt! That way we may pester you with questions for years to come.
Scott: I followed your argument up to the point where you expressed reservations about rolling dice. I then picked it up at Hadith Scholars, but the middle bit befuddled me.
This is a very interesting discussion and I hope to learn more about Glorantha’s Orthodoxy by questioning the Magi of the Web.
Cheers and best wishes.

Ah, the Council of Niceaa has been hard at work I see. So there is exegesis in the world of Glorantha too. What would the Gloranthan equivalent of Hadith Scholars be I wonder?
I guess I have some explaining to do to my players when the oasis disappears.
Thank you for the dose of Orthodoxy, Jeff!

According to the Book of Drastic Resolutions-Prax there is an oasis at Pairing Stone and there are no oasis people there. Did someone heroquest to change the Pairing Stones condition?

So one evolving to RQ 6 and one on the fence. That’s an interesting image – a triceratops balanced precariously on a fence! And me, the old fart who will not change. Well at least there’ll be a little more petroleum for the future! Come on, there must be more saurian reactionaries out there willing to speak up and move back to the future. Rise up Jurassic gamers and let the world know you are here! Forward in a backward direction! Advance to the rear! Make yourselves heard (or in the triceratops’ case “herd”). Don’t leave me alone in the wilderness.December 9, 2013 at 7:44 pm #6345
Woad-ashious Dude and they’re all dressed for wind-surfing too! Narly! Great painting and detailing but a bit too graphic for kids me thinks. Well done!

Thank you Charles for that link. You have wetted my appetite even further!

I too missed the boat on the Kick-starter fund raising and I am eager to order the Guide and the Argan Argar Atlas when they become available. Don’t hurry and do a good job; but know that the anticipation is killing me. What formats will these new items be in? Will they be offered in hard-cover, soft-cover and/or PDF forms? What about all the other bells and whistles listed on the Kick-starter page such as maps etc.? Will these too be offered? Sincerely with greed and envy.

Praxians also trade captives for captured herd beasts of their own type, if they can’t steal them back that is. And what Praxian would turn down the offer of bronze weapons or armour in exchange for a captured tribe’s man? This assumes that the captive is worth the sacrifice of such valuable items of course.
