    Orensulva

    P. 55: Character Sheet: “Unspent Additional Abilities: [1]”
To summarize: Grimoire: Index of the Final Information Library +1, Grimoire: Secrets of the God Learners +1, Know court secrets +1 & Fabulous Quills of the Wyrms Friends 13.
Christine gets it right when -still during the first session of play- she says about her character on p. 71: “I’ve got one unspent additional ability point.” One it is indeed…

    Herrox

    P. 54: Character Sheet: “Unspent Additional Abilities: [2]”
To summarize: Water +4, Illusion +2, Water +4 = 10. As correctly written on p. 55: “He adds 10 ability points, leaving two in reserve.”
    P. 54: Character Sheet: “Ability Points [2]”
To summarize: Trick Riding +1, Long Dance +1 & Zortan the Optimistic.
    P. 54: Character Sheet: “Community: Thirstless spirit society 13” should go as it is already subsumed under the Spirit Rune according to p. 136 of the rules. Else it should become an additional ability!

    Karganvale

    P. 54: “She spends all but [three] of her ability points raising Karganvale’s abilities.”
    P. 54: Character Sheet: “Ability Points [3]”

To summarize: Death +5, Neckchopper +2, Coat of Bronze Scales +2 = 9

    Vargast

    P. 53: Character Sheet: “Unspent Additional Abilities: [2]”
    P. 54: “As additional abilities, Neil takes an allied spirit as a companion; a magical lightning spear (a breakout ability of the Air Rune); and a [relationship (Lunars killed my wife)].”

According to the feat rules on p. 146, as a newly-minted devotee Vargast gets his Thunderer feat for free.
P.53: Character Sheet: “Ability Points: [2]
    To summarize: Air +10 = 10.

He already gets Proud at 11W through the Air Rune, thus it doesn’t make a lot of sense to take it as a breakout ability from the Mastery Rune, doesn’t it?

Thus: “He adds his distinguishing characteristic, proud, as a breakout ability of his [Air] Rune.” Makes more sense, no?

As usual (HW, HQ1, HQ:CR, S:KoH & P:GtA), none of the characters has been done right… none! Ain’t traditions great?!? ;o)

    Samastina

    P. 53: “She spends [all] of her ability points to raise various abilities; she keeps [none] in reserve.”

    P. 53: Character Sheet: “Ability Points: [0]”

    To summarize: Earth +3, Life +1, Noble +7 Ambitious +1 = 12

One way of doing it is by having individual session counters for each player so that a Nearly Impossible difficulty -let’s say- is always +2W but its value is different depending on whose character is playing. In this way, beginning players can be play side by side with confirmed players without any problem.

According to Greg, RQ is definitely not the perfect Glorantha simulator! HQ2/ HQ:G is definitely more like it…

I tend to agree with you that the BoL Sorcery rules could work for all 3 (4 with the Lunars) systems of Gloranthan magic. I haven’t seen Honor & Intrigue, so I don’t have any idea about its specific rules.

I like your answer, Joerg, thank you very much!

A book on Whitewall, the repeal of the Crimson Bat & the fall of the city is also planned.

Harrek’s saga is also supposed to come one day & coupled with the Greath Argrath Campaign both would cover a lot of ground (from Genert’s Wastes to the Moon!?!)

Instead, what everybody is waiting for nowadays is D&D in Glorantha aka 13th Age Glorantha. Urgh!

A distraction & waste of time, money & manpower if ever there was one!?! It reminds me of Questworld, Fantasy Earth, Griffin Island & HeroQuest: Core Rules… Of course, I’ll end up participating in the Kickstarter, if it’s the only game in town (my GtoG & AAA haven’t arrived yet by the way)!?!

    What the … ???

    GtG p. 9:

    Four Paths to Magic

Gloranthan scholars generally recognize four distinct ways to conceive of magic: spirit, divine, wizardry, and mysticism. In the Third Age, Lunar Magic is claimed by its practitioners to constitute a fifth path, although that claim is not widely recognized by others. Other minor paths may also exist.

Spirit Magic: Also called animism or naturalism, this method of conceiving magic involves integration with the spirits who embody the animals, plants, places, and objects they dwell within. Each culture has its own traditions of spirit magic, which includes spirit societies, animist cults with special relationships to powerful spirits, and individual shamans who explore this world.

    What could be clearer?

La réponse canonique est dans HeroQuest: Glorantha & HQ:G n’est pas encore paru!

After the development of King of Dragon Pass, do the Orlanthi worship Uralda the Cow Mother as the wife of Urox or do they worship Eiritha as David says?

    #10568

The Orlanthi god Urox has nothing to do with the Praxian great spirit Eiritha. Storm Bull on the other end…

Hey, any link between Uralda & Eiritha, anyone?!?
