In the Storm Age after the fall of the Golden Emperor, Magasta and his daughters invaded the Air-Breather's realms intent on seizing more land for his people. When the Spike exploded Magasta threw himself into the void and saved the world from Chaos. He could only do this with the help of his children across the world who all turned and flowed back into the ocean to provide their strength to their father. This is why the rivers flow down hill today.

Zola Fel was one of Magasta's mightiest daughters. She forced her way from the shores of the ocean into the Rockwood Mountains to the north of Genert's Garden and was spreading her domain when Chaos came. Since the death of Genert she has shrunk in size but is still a mighty force to content with. Early on, Zola Fel befriended the giants of the mountains and bore their babies to their nurseries in the Underworld. Zola Fel married Diros the Boatman and shared her bounty with his people.

Zola Fel still shares her bounty with any who will show her proper respect. Her priesthood on the banks, and under the waves, practice services to appease the great serpent and direct it from harming the air-breathers. When a new bridge is to be built the Goddess must be consulted beforehand. When a fishing vessel seeks to harvest Zola Fel's children they must seek her blessings. Zola Fel has also agreed to provide life-giving water for the Air-Breather's crops.

Entry Requirements: To live in or alongside the river and to be sentient.
Mental Abilities: Riverspeech, Myths of Zola Fel, Knowledge of River Denizens, Knowledge of Riverine Geography.
Physical Abilities: Swim, Dive, Hold Breath Underwater, Cast Net
Affinities: Command Water (Purify Water, Breathe Water, Resist Fire, See Through Water, Call/Dismiss Water Spirit)
Movement (Waterwalk, Swim Quietly, Haste Boat, Rock Boat, Swim Far, Buoyancy)
Secret: Travel as Water (Ritual Magic. Character becomes one with the river and travels undetectably to any predetermined point along its length.)
Worshippers: Any who make their livelihood on or from the river. Most worshippers are intelligent river beings and spirits. Most of the visible worshipers are human or newtling.
Other Side: Zola Fel's barge floats on the River of Cradles that cuts through Genert's Garden. From her barge, worshipers may exit to the Golden Age, the Storm Age, the Darkness or into Magasta's Ocean. After death, worshipers will flow to the Heart of the Sea where they will be purified before returning to the world again. This will continue until the soul is pure enough to remain at the Heart.
Other Connections: Pavis and Zola Fel are friendly, and the air-breathers of the cult associate strongly with the followers of Diros the Boatman. Additionally most river cults freely accept relocating worshippers from another river.
Disadvantages: Most magic and skills are restricted, or even useless, away from a river or other body of water.
