Fate of the GTA
Dear GTA members,
As you can see in the announcement here, I have
retired from publishing HeroQuest in order to pursue full-time writing.
In order to help Rick have a spectacular launch we've held off on publishing ILH2 for
some time. I know it's been frustrating to you, and all the fans, to not have it for
so long, but unfortunately for you (and me) the commercial and public relations value
of this outweighed everything else.
With the publication of Under the Red Moon (nearly)
all the obligations of Issaries to the GTA members will have been met. The initial
request for funds was to publish HeroQuest, with promises to Initiates
and RuneMasters for a limited number of books. As for Heroes, who were promised a
free copy of all Issaries publications, I regretfully point out that Issaries has
herein stopped publishing and subsequent releases will not be sent free to you. I
feel sorry about this, since you have significantly financed the initial publication
with your superior generosity. I hope the cessation of free product is not a total
surprise since, of course, it had an implicit completion from the start.
Rick has agreed to continue to honor the GTA membership by offering a 20% discount
on one copy of each new Moon Design product, done through the official Moon Design
on-line site. This market will be set up shortly and be available through the web
site, which will also be hereafter under Rick's control (and is going to have a
considerable upgrade soon as well).
The special online access to information that Initiates, Rune Masters and Heroes
have gotten will be continued, and we will add new materials at times.
I believe that we have a complete list of all people who are to receive a copy of
ILH2 as part of their membership. These will be honored.
However, after the difficulties of the previous transmission of the business back
to me after my return from Mexico, I have not been able to access the complete GTA
obligations. If you are a person whose free product is not completed with ILH2,
please contact me by sending a copy of the email in which your original request
was made and/or acknowledged by Issaries. We will honor these too, of course.
Of course, we will not be accepting any further GTA memberships or upgrades. Anyone
who wishes to help the cause of the exploration of Glorantha is invited to contact
Fabian Küchler at fabian@tentacles-convention.de for details to join a group that
is observing the monthly compilation of my original Glorantha novels.
I want to conclude by thanking each of you for your support in this project.
HeroQuest would not have been published without your help. Whenever
Issaries or I have received a compliment on the game I have been aware of my thanks
to you as well.
So I take this opportunity to thank everyone for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Greg Stafford
