I’ve always wished I could add Nomad Gods to my collection. I have Dragon Pass. Wonderful game. I was wondering if there was any possibility someday someone might reprint them?

Oriflamme published Nomad Gods several years ago as Les Dieux Nomades. Not sure if that is still in print but it should be easier to find than the original.

Yes, and I have that, but even with all the translations and such it’s far from elegant, and a royal pain to overcome the language barrier.

I would buy a new editon or reprint of Nomad Gods. And I would buy a combined game set, Nomad Gods and Dragon Pass. In spite of the fact that I already have the AH edition of Dragon Pass.

Heck, I’d buy it in online format and use it on Cyberboard.

Hah, I was planning to ask exactly the same question. You could even just release an official scan of the rules + Vassal module. The possibilities are endless. 😀

We are considering doing a Kickstarter to get Dragon Pass and Nomad Gods back in publication. Among the things we want to add to the game are:

Armies and Enemies of Dragon Pass as a separate booklet in the box (a full treatment of all the various units in the game with art – along the lines of the old Wargames Research Group books) – the booklet would also be available independently
A few additional units (but keeping the art to the old William Church style)
Some new scenarios (including a few more multiplayer games)
      Cover art for the box
Editing the rules for readability, and adding in Greg’s errata

Sign me up! I’ll definitely jump in on that kickstarter. Can we get more details about Androgynous?

That is very god news indeed. The two games would benefit from a common rules engine, though. That way, all that would be required for a new area would be different units, terrain, maps and treasures.

Simon, I think you’ve confused what Jeff is saying. I don’t think he’s talking about combining the games. If you look at them side by side that’s a lot of work – essentially a brand new game. The only really common thing is the maps and the fact they use counters. I’m sure he’s talking about two separate games. Have a look at the rules and counters of both games. A new game that could be used on the new maps for the guide would be fantastic, although nightmarish to do.

Androgeos is covered in the Guide. IIRC he doesn’t appear until the hero wars period of the DP game.

There is however one possible idea that we did for one or two of the convulsion conventions – we got permission from Greg to reproduce a few sets of Nomad Gods. We then had a tournament where players paid about £5 each to cover reproduction costs. The winners of each game got to keep the maps, counters and rules. We even did a new rules cover. I’ll try and post it later to make you all jealous. You would of course have to now get permission from MD and perhaps organise it for the next tentacles in Germany with the committee, or with Convulsion in Leicester later in the year. It might even be the 20th anniversary of that event, so even better. BTW I’m talking proper Nomad Gods not that tampered and messed with version that Stephen Martin did with Oriflam (you won’t find any reference to the new stuff in it in the Guide).

Don’t forget us Americans! Up here in Seattle, it’s kinda tough to attend any conventions. That’s why I’m all for a kickstarter.

Here’s the cover of the rules set for Convulsion 3D in 1996.

Moon Design has a Seattle office, perhaps you could have a mini con there…
